This website is my personal favourite. My students love it, and the prompts are so versatile that you can definitely use them at any age.

What you’ll find: A collection of pictures to spark your imagination.

Why it rocks: Each picture comes with a series of questions to help get you started. They have curated collections of images under categories including character, fiction and nonfiction.

What you’ll find: This website provides you with a randomly generated prompt that includes a character, situation, prop and setting.
