Why it rocks: Each picture comes with a series of questions to help get you started. They have curated collections of images under categories including character, fiction and nonfiction.
Diymfa Writer Igniter
What you’ll find: This website provides you with a randomly generated prompt that includes a character, situation, prop and setting.
Why it rocks: Gamify your creative writing process with this writing prompt generator. If you don’t like what pops out, try for another one.
Writer’s Digest Prompts
What you’ll find: A simple yet accessible weekly writing prompt from Writer’s Digest combined with a relatable photograph to spark your imagination.
Why it rocks: You can share your 500-word short story in the comments. Engage with other writers. Share and gain feedback.
